Seven festive content ideas for your business

Christmas is getting closer, providing the perfect opportunity to start using festive content ideas. Whether you run a business or just want to spread some joy through your online presence, creative content planning can help you to make the most of this special time.

I am 100% all for Christmas themed content so in this blog post I’ll be sharing a few of my favourite ideas that will engage your audience and leave them feeling merry and bright.

1. Christmas Gift Guides

One of the most searched-for content types during the holiday season is gift guides. This probably doesn’t come as a surprise as we all spend time searching for the perfect gifts for loved ones. A gift guide is a good opportunity for you to step in and show what your business is all about, as well as promote any Christmas offers that you have.

You could create a series of gift guides tailored to your audience's interests or demographics to help them find the right gift. Make sure to utilise social media in app shopping features where relevant and keep your link in bio up to date!

2. Festive Tutorials

Create fun festive tutorials related to your products or target audience. Include step-by-step instructions and engaging visuals to make it easy for your viewers to follow along. These are a great option for reels or TikTok videos as the video format makes a tutorial easy to copy.

Make sure to add a fun call to action in your caption, encouraging your audience to take part too!

3. Themed Social Media Challenges

Create a sense of community and make your content interactive by launching a Christmas themed social media challenge or contest. This is a fantastic way to get your brand name out there whilst also encouraging engagement from your audience and making them feel valued by you. User generated content is great for showcasing your brand and you can offer an incentive to make people interact with the contest.

To make it easy for you to find audience content encourage them to use a branded hashtag and tag you!

4. Virtual Holiday Celebrations

Incorporate live streams or webinars to host virtual holiday celebrations. You could offer a helpful freebie or an exclusive discount code for those who join live. This helps to build a real connection and sense of community, making your audience feel connected to you and others who follow you as well. It allows you to end the year on a lovely note!

5. Behind-the-Scenes Content

Social media users love to see posts that aren’t aesthetically perfect as the more natural content feels relatable. So, give your audience a sneak peek into your Christmas preparations. Share behind-the-scenes content such as decorating your workspace, planning your holiday content schedule, or even preparing orders. This humanises your brand and shows the personal side.

6. Interactive Advent Calendar

You could create a digital advent calendar within your content that reveals something new each day leading up to Christmas. This could be a daily tip, a special discount or even a mini contest. This keeps everyone intrigued and wanting to come back to see what each day is about!

7. Reflect on the Year

Share your highlights and lessons learned from the past year. This can be a great way to connect with your audience emotionally, as many people enjoy reflecting at the end of the year. Share what you're thankful for and encourage your audience to do the same!

The Christmas season offers so many creative content opportunities. Whether you're looking to inspire, entertain or educate your audience these ideas will help you connect with those who follow you.
